For many, December was planning month (if you just said “It was?” – don’t worry but keep reading!) With pen and paper in hand (or laptop in lap), we found ourselves creating goals, forecasting 2023, and building excitement of the possibilities. Once the NYC ball dropped and the clock struck 12:00am, our brains were full steam ahead (while visions of dollar signs danced in our heads).
Why auditing your workflow is crucial:
The best laid plans of mice and men often go astray.
Why?
We don’t do our due diligence to make sure everything is where it should be before we move forward. I have had intake calls with new clients DEVASTATED (their words not mine – I’m not into the “dramatic effect”) because they lost money with their workflow – they didn’t realize old price points were still in place and were now contractually obligated to offer services for hundreds (if not thousands) less than they did before and needed their automations updated ASAP.
For others, they haven’t been able to figure out why their conversions were low until an audit discovered a broken link or program needing to be validated again – causing appointments to be unavailable. One particular individual forgot she had a .org not a .com domain and was sending people to the wrong website (absolutely adore this woman to this day and she is one of my favorite clients!)
The list goes on!
Yes, I understand as entrepreneurs – we are busy and a moment lost is equivalent to income missed; but, I am here to tell you that going back and checking your workflows is a necessary evil – not only to see if they are working, but if they are optimized for the user experience.
Make this your resolution of 2023. If you don’t want to do it, I would be happy to help but MAKE SURE you go through your automations from beginning to end. You do regular scheduled maintenance on your car (if not, let’s put a pin in that and potentially come back to it later), your business isn’t any different!
